FDOA native of Santiago, Chile, Mr. Moraga began his career with the Ballet Folklorico Nacional de Chile (BAFONA). At the age of 19 he started his ballet training at the school of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago where he studied with Marta Hertz, Rosita Rivano, Eliana Azocar and Claudio Muñoz.
During that time he was awarded Third Prize in the First "Elena Poliakova" National Ballet Competition held in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Mr. Moraga soon joined Ballet de Santiago as a member of the Corps de Ballet under the direction of Luz Lorca and quickly rose to the rank of Soloist under the direction of Marcia Haydée.
He also represented the company at international dance galas such as the "Fourth International Gala latino Americana de Ballet" in Asuncion, Paraguay, the "Fifth National Dance Contest", organized by the Paraguayan Dance Council, Asuncion, Paraguay, and the "First Latin American Dance Encounter", organized in La Paz, Bolivia.
At the Invitation of Artistic Director Ben Stevenson, Mr. Moraga joined Houston Ballet in 1997 and went to be featured in many new works and world premieres.
In 2003 moved on to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre under the direction of Terry Orr and in 2005 he joined Ballet Florida under the direction of Marie hale.
His repertoire includes principal roles in John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet, Roland Hynd's Papillon, The Merry Widow and Diable a Quatre, Jaime Pinto's Don Quixote, Fenix, and Emociones (which was created for Mr. Moraga) Harold Lander's Etudes, Ben Stevenson's Cinderella, Swan Lake, Cleopatra, Dracula, The Nutcracker, Snow Maiden, Five Poems (World Premiere), Esmeralda and Four Last Songs, George Balanchine's Four Temperaments, Divertimento #15 and Tchaikovsky Pas, Trey McIntyre Second Before the ground and Bounce, Paul Taylor’s Company B and Christopher Bruce's Ghost Dances.
Since 2008 Mr. Moraga has been performing as guest artist with different companies around the world and teaching for many ballet schools, universities and ballet companies.
At present time Mr. moraga is the Artistic Director of Theatre of Ballet Arts and Ballet Arts Academy in Bristol Virginia, USA and Ballet Master for the Dance Department at ETSU (East Tennessee State University) in Johnson City, Tennessee.
